Seat Sherpa is a carpool marketplace for long drives in California and Nevada. Drivers post a trip they're already making — SF to LA, LA to San Diego, the Bay to Sacramento — and riders book an empty seat and split the gas. Prices are capped at the IRS mileage rate, so it's cost-sharing, not a taxi: cheaper than the train, faster than the bus, no airport.
No app required. Browse every live ride at seatsherpa.app/rides, pick your exact seat, pay by card, and chat with the driver — all in the browser. Riding only part of the way? Drivers price each leg, so you pay for your stop, not the full trip. No car? Rent one for the weekend, post the trip, and your riders' seat shares cover most of it.
